Custom Furniture Design

Custom Furniture Design

Furniture should fit your space, your life, and your taste — not the other way around.
We design and build one-of-a-kind, heirloom-quality furniture made specifically for you, from carefully selected hardwoods and built to last for generations.

Whether you’re starting with a clear vision or just an idea, we’ll guide you through a thoughtful design process that turns concepts into finely crafted pieces.

Our Design Philosophy

Great custom furniture balances function, proportion, material, and craftsmanship. Every decision — from wood species to joinery to finish — is intentional.

We focus on:

  • Honest materials and solid wood construction

  • Clean, timeless forms that age gracefully

  • Structural integrity that goes beyond industry norms

  • Designs that complement architecture rather than compete with it

The result is furniture that feels grounded, purposeful, and unmistakably well-made.

The Custom Design Process

1. Discovery & Consultation

We start by understanding your space, how the piece will be used, and what matters most to you — size constraints, style preferences, durability, and budget.

2. Design & Refinement

Based on our discussion, we develop a custom design tailored to your needs. This may include sketches, renderings, material samples, and finish options. We refine the design collaboratively until it feels right.

3. Material Selection

Each piece begins with carefully chosen hardwoods selected for beauty, strength, and long-term stability. Grain, color, and figure are considered part of the design.

4. Craft & Build

Your furniture is built by hand using traditional joinery and modern precision tools where appropriate. No shortcuts. No mass production.

5. Finish & Delivery

We apply durable, low-sheen finishes designed to protect the wood while letting its natural character show through. The final piece is delivered ready to be used and enjoyed.

What We Build

  • Dining tables (fixed, extendable, and custom formats)

  • Coffee tables and side tables

  • Desks and work surfaces

  • Cabinets, credenzas, and storage pieces

  • Built-ins and architectural woodwork

If it’s made of wood and meant to last, we can likely build it.

Materials & Finishes

We work primarily with solid hardwoods such as:

  • Walnut

  • White oak

  • Ash

  • Cherry

Finishes are selected for durability, repairability, and natural appearance — never thick plastic coatings. Pieces are designed to age gracefully, not hide wear.

Why Custom?

Custom furniture offers things off-the-shelf pieces never can:

  • Exact sizing for your space

  • Materials chosen for longevity, not cost-cutting

  • Construction that can be serviced and repaired decades later

  • A piece with a story — not a SKU

This is furniture you buy once.
